Visa Launches V.me mWallet In Australia

Visa’s V.me mobile wallet service launched in Australia on July 9, entering a market space already served by PayPal and MasterCard, The Australian Financial Review reports.

The service now has roughly 40 participating institutions, though the media outlet noted that Commonwealth Bank of Australia, one of the country’s largest financial services providers, was not among them.

Visa had stated previously that the service, which began in the United States last year, would become available in Australia by the end of 2013.
