Walgreens Adopts Omnichannel Strategy

Walgreens, the major U.S. pharmacy, is looking to revamp its digital infrastructure to encourage spending across all its commerce channels, Internet Retailer reported.

    Jason Fei, the Illinois-based company’s director of eCommerce, told the media outlet that by shifting to a centrally managed platform from Oracle ATG, it will be able to build a feature once and make it available to customers through any digital channel. The pharmacy currently does not have this capability.

    Fei said this represented a shift from the company’s browser-first approach to eCommerce, one that will aim to encourage more consumers to visit Walgreens stores.
