Data Hackers Had Much More Than One Target

    At least three other smaller retailers experienced similar attacks between November and December, Reuters reported on Jan. 12, citing an unnamed interviewed .

    The names of those companies was not disclosed, but the source said they are well-known brands. Moreover, the previously unreported attacks, which led to the theft of sensitive personal and financial information, were similar in nature to the Target breach.

    Investigations into the data breaches are ongoing, including efforts from the U.S. Secret Service and the Department of Justice.
