First Data announced the release of its mobile loyalty solution for SMB merchants, Perka. This cloud-based customer loyalty solution connects SMBs to their customers using location-based apps and mobile phones. Merchants can design a customized loyalty program for Perka after they sign up with First Data.
Perka was acquired by First Data in October 2013.
With the launch, Perka is now available for the Clover Station, First Data’s touchscreen point of sale solution.
“Customers participate by downloading the Perka app on any smart phone, where they instantly see a list of participating merchants nearby and what loyalty promotions they are offering,” the release stated. “When entering the store, customers launch the app and check in, which signals their presence to the merchant, who then greets them by name and validates their purchases.”
First Data President, Guy Chiarello, explained that the new program is adding valuable functionality to First Data’s SMB offerings, and takes advantage of First Data’s “unique position and scale” to deliver a powerful solution to small and medium-sized businesses.
