Is The Amazon Phone Finally Ready to Drop?

For months there has been speculation that Amazon is about to drop their take on the smart phone – a mostly hush, hush new product that will reportedly feature “eye-tracking” and 3D functionality.

That the speculation is about to come to an end, since Amazon’s release of a new YouTube video that strongly implies that it is about to release their phone.

Implies but doesn’t say exactly, instead the commercial features an ethnically diverse cast of good looking people starting down at something in their hands and commenting that it is “cool,” “amazing” and “pretty damn intuitive.”  What the product is exactly is never actually seen, though at the end viewers are invited to Amazons launch event on June 18th.

The video also showed many users moving their heads around while looking at the unidentified object (phone) and noting in various ways that whatever it is seems to be following their gaze, a fact that seems to excite rather than disturb the users of the hypothetical phone.

When pushed for comments, an Amazon spokesperson reportedly told CNN Money that we would have to wait and see.

If you want to get a look at some people who are probably looking at an Amazon phone, you can watch the YouTube video below.
