Shopify Lowers Prices And Expands Offerings

Online commerce leader Shopify will be lowering its transactions costs at it POS plans as well as lowering the price for signing onto the system. Credit card transactions processed through Shopify will now only carry a 2.7 percent per exchange charge with no additional flat fee. Signing up is now $49 per month, as opposed to per location.

    The new offering also allow merchants to opt to sell offline only and will allow sellers to create and redeem gift cards at in-store and develop custom receipt practices.

    Shopify also confirmed interest in Beacon and bluetooth technology for omnichannel customer access, though the company will not confirm if it is planning to pursue offering in that area.
