Target: Breach Affected 100 Million+ Consumers

New details about the Target breach last month emerged on Jan. 10 as the company was forced to admit that as many as 110 million consumers may have been impacted by the megaretailer’s recent data breach.

Target also acknowledged that such personal data as phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses were stolen in the theft, the New York Times reported.

“I know that it is frustrating for our guests to learn that this information was taken, and we are truly sorry they are having to endure this,” Gregg Steinhafel, Target’s CEO, said in a statement. “I also want our guests to know that understanding and sharing the facts related to this incident is important to me and the entire Target team.”
