Mozido stressed the importance of Hynes’ addition to the success of its executive team. “His passion for global financial inclusion and his belief in the role mobile payments will play is well-matched for the Mozido executive team. He was at the center of some of the world’s largest financial inclusion programs around the world over the past few years at MasterCard, and we are excited to bring that expertise to the Mozido executive team,” said Michael Liberty, founder of Mozido.

Hynes plans to focus on technology to bring mobile payments to untapped markets. “I am first and foremost passionate about driving financial inclusion for the world’s underserved,” he said in the release. “I’m a firm believer in Mozido’s mission to progress via access to mobile financial services for the 2.5 billion people around the world that are not included today.”

Hynes will oversee Mozido’s operations in the United States, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, India, China and Asia Pacific.
