Web.com Reporting A Potential Breach

The Florida-based Web.com Group is reporting a breach in a computer system that may have set free about 93,000 customers’ credit card data. The firm currently has a customer list of about 3.3 million.

According to reports, the breach was first detected late last week. Web.com is a Web service provider for SMBs. The firm says it will provide a year of credit monitoring for those affected by this latest round of cyberattacks.

Currently, Web.com is working with an unspecified information tech firm to investigate how the breach happened. No other details have been made public as of yet.

On the news of the breach, the company saw its shares fall 6.7 percent to $22.17 in after-hours trading on Tuesday (Aug. 18).
