U.S. Bank Fuels Its Business Travel Game

U.S. Bank is giving a massive boost to its corporate travel services game, announcing two strategic partnerships this week that will help business clients manage their spending with regards to business trips.

Reports on Monday (July 27) revealed that U.S. Bank has partnered with Adelman Travel and Chrome River, both in an effort to strengthen corporate expense management services.

The collaboration with Adelman brings U.S. Bank’s corporate services — including virtual payment technology and commercial cards — to the business users of Adelman’s business travel tools.

Adelman offers back-office booking solutions for corporate travel managers. A tie-up with U.S. Bank, the company said, will allow travel managers to more accurately manage their spending on business travel while gaining the benefit of streamlined booking services from Adelman.

“Now Adelman’s customers have one complete global corporate payment solution, backed by one of the world’s leading financial institutions,” said Adelman Travel President and COO Steve Cline in a statement.

“This allows our corporate clients to gain a clear picture of their entire spend and maximize their rebate earnings while reducing their travel management program fees,” he elaborated. “Integrating travel, expense and now credit card data meets our company’s mission to successfully manage the complete data cycle and help organizations promote tighter enforcement of travel policies.”

Businesses that already use Adelman’s corporate travel booking services will now have access to U.S. Bank’s virtual payment services free of charge, the companies said.

U.S. Bank’s new deal with Chrome River similarly strengthens corporate travel solutions offered by the companies. Monday reports also revealed that the deal will offer their joint customers a seamless expense management solution, linking Chrome River’s tools with U.S. Bank’s payment services. Reports said corporate customers will be able to track expenses and reconcile payments on a single platform.

“This integrated system will streamline the reconciliation process and create a truly connected experience for joint customers,” said Chrome River COO Dave Terry in a statement. “Card users will be able to view their statement, complete their expense report, dispute transactions and pay their incidentals without the need to move from one system to another and back.”

He added that the partnership is a “giant step forward for expense and account management.”

It’s a move that strengthens the companies’ already existing relationship, which began in 2013 when U.S. Bank began referring business customers to Chrome River, according to reports.

Both partnerships were announced at the 2015 Global Business Travel Association conference.
