Basware Unveils AP Software Tools For ‘Power Users’

Basware Shifts SMB Procurement Into New Unit

Basware has added a collection of functionalities meant for “power users” to its Accounts Payable (AP) Automation offering, according to a Wednesday (Dec. 2) announcement.

These types of users handle a greater quantity of invoices than business users and conduct complicated invoice handling activities akin to AP workers. The additional functions offer a “desktop-optimized” look into all pertinent invoice data, enabling them to match bills with purchase orders and easily access coding tools.

Such a simplified interface provides “process efficiencies” and bolsters user adoption in the end, according to the announcement. The infrastructure brings about benefits like heightened spend visibility for the firm and the capacity for early payment discounts.

“The new features provide the missing link between business users and AP clerks to optimize efficiency in AP operations, allowing organizations to meet their AP key performance indicators,” said Olav Maas, director of AP automation for Basware. “It’s difficult – nearly impossible – for a central AP team to understand all specific local requirements of purchases.”

Basware says it is the only procure-to-pay and digital invoicing solution provider that provides companies with complete spend visibilty via full vendor connectivity and information capture.

The news comes as the firm recently launched a “Spend Insights” dashboard and a function to enable payment performance analysis as two improvements to its Analytics offering. The Spend Insights dashboard provides one view into all of an entity’s spend, including PO, non-PO, direct and indirect information as well as suggestions for action. It offers data in a new design that provides a “logical flow to an organization’s data story,” according to a past announcement.

“The dashboard is revolutionary, as it provides this complete visibility in an automated manner, allowing organizations to make more effective, data-backed decisions,” Sami Peltonen, VP of purchase-to-pay product management for Basware, said in a past announcement.
