Fortis Buys VIP Integrated Payments to Boost ERP, VAR Business

Fortis, the payments and commerce tech company, has acquired VIP Integrated Payments, which will help it simplify payments and cash flow for digitizing businesses, a press release says.

VIP offers accounting software integration and credit card payments, along with other things like ACH/EFT payments, automated settlement and omnichannel connectivity.

Fortis intends to add to its enterprise resource planning (ERP) and value-added reseller (VAR) channels.

Fortis will also be adding new senior members to its leadership team.

“We have been watching with great interest as Fortis continues to expand its capabilities and its commercial footprint,” VIP CEO Miah Green said. “It’s exciting to become the newest chapter of that growth story. Businesses will benefit from the innovations our organizations will continue to roll out as we offer a modern, fully-integrated commerce and payment facilitation experience.”

Green and his team will continue in their roles and be integrated into the larger organization.

Greg Cohen, Fortis CEO, said the merger would be a fortuitous one.

“VIP is a trusted guide and partner in the ERP community helping create VAR solutions on behalf of B2B businesses,” he said. “Joining forces means both organizations will continue to expand on the exceptional service they are already known for.”

Fortis also recently purchased OmniFund with the objective of adding to its capabilities for things like accounts receivable and ERP.

OmniFund specializes in things like cloud-based payments-as-a-platform solutions, using that with software and ERP in order to perform credit card processing, SMS payment requests, recurring and mobile payments and other things.

Fortis has been on a spree of acquisitions and partnerships, while OmniFund has partnered with finance companies in things like healthcare.

Cohen said the acquiring of OmniFund would help it offer features it couldn’t before, as both companies shared a “passion for making software partners better through technology and amazing experiences.”
