Tech Data India has launched Peer Connexions, a B2B eCommerce platform designed to reflect the industry’s move toward digital commerce.

“Peer Connexions empower resellers with unparalleled convenience, allowing Tech Data to better support and enable their business,” Sundaresan Kanappan, Tech Data’s vice president of next generation technologies for Asia Pacific and Japan and country general manager, said in a news release Wednesday (June 2).

“eCommerce has transformed the way we work and conduct business in India. As part of Tech Data’s global digital transformation, this Platform is a key go-to-market initiative to better support our channel fraternity,” Kanappan said.

According to Tech Data, the platform offers its channel partner access to technical, commercial and product catalogs, as well as pricing and inventory status, promotions and special offers, and the ability to register and transact on a common platform around the clock.

Jaishankar Krishnan, co-founder of Peer Connexions, said the platform was already operating in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Sri Lanka before the company brought the product to India.

“We are confident that with the wide range of features and services available on the Platform it will quickly become the preferred platform for doing business for all Channel partners,” he said.

The launch of Peer Connexions comes soon after the Indian government launched a B2B digital marketplace for businesses in that country.

Known as the Indian Business Portal, the platform was rolled out last week by Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Anupriya Patel and is a product of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and GlobalLinker.

The portal was designed to help small- to medium-sized business exporters, artisans and farmers discover new markets and improve their sales.
