PayPal Ventures Takes Stake in Commerce Automation Platform Cymbio

PayPal offers $10K drawing through holiday season

Drop-ship automation platform Cymbio on Thursday (March 24) announced that PayPal Ventures, the venture capital arm of the global payments company, has invested an undisclosed amount in the company, four months after Cymbio closed a $20M Series B fundraising round.

Cymbio’s marketplace and drop-ship automation platform creates a bridge between brands and individual marketplaces and retailers, offering a centralized platform with scalable retail connections to more than 800 marketplaces, retailers and eCommerce solutions worldwide.

“PayPal Ventures’ investment in Cymbio reflects the important role that Cymbio plays in enabling brands to shift to a multi-channel commerce model,” said CEO Roy Avidor, who co-founded the company along with Mor Lavi and Gilad Zirkel, in the joint press release.

“This investment will support Cymbio in the next stage of our journey as we continue to help brands accelerate their digital sales growth by connecting them to a global retail ecosystem,” he said.

Cymbio’s platform is compatible with myriad systems and protocols used by retailers and marketplaces. It automates all drop-ship and marketplace operations, including integration, setup and day-to-day management of the relationship between brands and retailers, the press release said.

PayPal Ventures’ investment will allow Cymbio to continue to grow and expand its capabilities, including a planned financial services offering for the hundreds of brands on its platform slated for the second quarter of this year.

“Cymbio shares our ambition to support businesses of all sizes in expanding their digital commerce operations,” said Phil Valka, senior director, PayPal Ventures, in the joint press release. “Multi-channel selling is one of the most effective ways for brands and merchants to reach more consumers and increase sales.”
