Slice Watch Can Monitor Prices For Online Shopping Lists

Slice is a mobile shopping list that keeps track of prices for the user.

Slice, a mobile shopping assistant app, has rolled out a new offering called Slice Watch, designed to help online shoppers save money by allowing them to track prices on online items, according to TechCrunch.

Slice Watch actually works within a web browser and functions as an online wish list, where users can add items to their online shopping list through the simple click of a button (on Slice Watch-supported sites).

The app is already functional on a number of large online shopping destinations, such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Macy’s, Walgreens, Staples, Sephora and more.

Once a shopping list has been established, Slice Watch “watches” the items for a user, keeping an eye on changes in price and sending an email notification to the user when the price drops.

Slice says that the function saves the average online shopper about $30 per month.

For savvy online shoppers looking for the best deal possible, Slice Watch can be a useful tool as online retail prices shift much more rapidly than their brick-and-mortar counterparts (Amazon itself is renowned for changing the prices on millions of items it sells on a daily basis).

However, using the Slice Watch add-on is also an agreement on the part of the user to provide data back to the company about the user’s online shopping history and profile that Slice then uses as part of its retail intelligence service.

Slice says that it tracks the sites a user visits, search queries, personal info and email addresses, price and product info and whatever else it can glean from a user’s Facebook and other social media accounts.
