iZettle Launches Cloud-Based POS In Germany

IZettle announced Tuesday (Oct. 25) the launch of intelligentpos, a cloud-based point-of-sale solution for shops, bars and restaurants in Germany.

In a press release, the company said the launch of intelligentpos is the company’s first foray outside of the U.K. and into Europe and follows on the heels of iZettle’s acquisition of intelligentpos in September. It is part of iZettle’s mission to move beyond payments and create a “one-stop shop for commerce.”

With the help of intelligentpos, iZettle is now able to provide small businesses across Germany with an integrated payment and point-of-sale solution that allows them to take card payments and use hundreds of different features on the point-of-sale app to help them manage and grow their businesses.

Aimed at iZettle‘s fastest-growing users, intelligentpos offers advanced point-of-sale features, including table management, which gives restaurants a bird’s eye view of their tables and helps them provide a higher level of service; stock management, which helps merchants make sure they never run out of their customers’ favorite products; and advance reporting, which helps users make informed decisions about their business.

“Four years ago, iZettle launched in Germany to empower small business owners with the tools necessary to help them accept card payments in an easy way,” said Jacob de Geer, chief executive of iZettle, in the press release. “One year ago, we added another string to our bow, offering small businesses hassle-free access to financing with iZettle Advance, and in September, we acquired intelligentpos, a market-leading cloud-based point of sale to give small businesses access to even more business-critical financial services. We’ve worked hard with the team at intelligentpos to scale quickly, and the launch of intelligentpos in Germany today takes iZettle further in its mission to provide small businesses globally with the business services they need to work less, live better and earn more.”
