NY Islanders Team With Fiserv for Contactless Payments at UBS Arena

Financial services provider Fiserv is teaming up with the New York Islanders to bring contactless payments to the team’s new UBS Arena, according to press release on Friday (Dec. 17).

Over 350 Fiserv-owned Clover point-of-sale (POS) terminals will be located throughout the arena, which seats over 17,000 people during a hockey game. Fiserv’s terminals will run on Bypass, which is Fiserv’s POS software.

Located at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York, UBS Arena opened on Nov. 19 and has high-tech offerings like mobile app ordering, self-service kiosks and grab-and-go marketplaces powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology.

“Built from the ground up with a premier fan experience in mind, UBS Arena opened on Nov. 20 with cutting-edge technology that prioritizes digital engagement designed to delight our fans before, during, and after every event,” said Hank Abate, president arena operations at UBS Arena.

Fiserv delivered a contactless payments landscape throughout the UBS Arena, deploying 350 Clover terminals that make moving through concession lines and returning to the game quicker than ever.

Clover is a complete POS and business-management platform intended to help businesses grow while maximizing efficiency. The system is used in over 50 major professional sports stadiums and 300 other venues across the U.S.

In combination with Bypass, venues can tap real-time data and analytics to evaluate sales and operational performance.
