Craft Beer Retailer Craft+Carry Opens Sixth Location In New York City

Bottle shop, tap room and craft beer curator Craft+Carry has opened its sixth store, which is located in the Upper West Side of the Manhattan borough of New York City, according to a Friday (April 16) announcement.

The store, which is stationed on Amsterdam Avenue between 82nd and 83rd street, features a “rustic” and “comfortable” design with reclaimed pine accents, vintage fixtures and tin tiles. Its modern offerings include a constantly changing draft selection, growler refills and sealed on-site crowlers. The store also has a complimentary on-site vintage arcade game to use while trying out new beers.

Craft+Carry opened its first locations in the city’s Brooklyn borough in 2017 and has since expanded. It provides libations to shoppers in Brooklyn at its DeKalb Market Hall outpost and at five locations throughout Manhattan. “Cicerone-certified staff” are available throughout all stores to offer tailored suggestions to shoppers.

Along with the opening of the Upper West Side store, Craft+Carry has also teamed with Finback Brewery for the rollout of a “springtime-exclusive” IPA available exclusively at Craft+Carry stores. The beer, called Slice of Sunset, is a 6.5 percent IPA with a taste of guava and blood orange and “dry-hopped with Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops for a smooth, refreshing finish,” according to the announcement. “We wanted to make a springtime IPA that you could really [enjoy] all day, especially outside. Because let’s be honest: We could all use a beer right now,” Craft+Carry Owner Dieter Seelig said in the announcement.

In addition, Craft+Carry has provided a craft beer delivery service since 2020, which offers curated beer and cider through bottles or packs.

The news comes as alcohol delivery is going mainstream, with Uber’s planned purchase of Drizly announced back in February.
