Office Depot, Uber Eats Team on Office Supplies Delivery

Uber Eats is continuing to add to its list of non-food delivery offerings with a new collaboration with Office Depot and its sister company OfficeMax.

The partnership, announced in a Monday (Aug. 15) news release, will let customers purchase office and school supplies from more than 900 Office Depot and OfficeMax stores nationwide through the Uber Eats platform. According to the release, Office Depot is the first office supply retailer to be available via Uber Eats.

“We know this is the busiest time of year for many, with back to school and even going back to the office, at Uber, we’re always looking for ways to make peoples’ lives easier by helping them get whatever they need — whenever they need it — delivered to their doorstep,” Christian Freese, head of new verticals for Uber Eats in the U.S.and Canada, said in the news release.

The partnership comes one week after Uber announced that Uber Eats would soon begin offering same-day delivery of products from nearly every Body Shop location in the U.S.

Uber and The Body Shop first teamed up in 2020 with six pilot locations on the Uber Eats and Cornershop apps. The companies have now expanded that relationship to include 75 of the beauty company’s storefronts as of Aug. 10.

These partnerships come amid a growing number of retail delivery linkups. For example, Amazon announced recently it was giving Prime members in 10 U.S. metro areas the ability to shop at local retail stores and have their purchases delivered that day. Retailers taking part in the initiative include PacSun, GNC, SuperDry and Diesel, with more expected to join soon.
