The new technology accessory is fitted to autonomous floor scrubbers and can automatically scan inventory and report details.

“By adding Inventory Scan to new or existing robotic scrubber fleets, retailers are immediately able to access critical in-store inventory data in near real-time,” Dave Ross, vice president of business development at Brain Corp, said in a press release Thursday (Jan. 6).

“Knowing where an item is, if it’s in stock, if it’s in the correct location, if the price is accurate, and more allows managers to operate stores with a new level of efficiency while providing optimal shopping experiences for their customers,” Ross added.

Inventory Scan uses a “first-of-its-kind, multi-purpose design” that is connected to the cloud and serves as a powerful scanning accessory that gets attached to Tennant’s line of autonomous floor scrubbers. The scrubbers are powered by Brain Corp’s operating system, BrainOS, and move autonomously about the store.

As the scrubbers move around the store, data is captured and reported to store managers to offer insights about pricing accuracy, planogram compliance, product stock levels and product localization.

The capabilities of Inventory Scan remove the need for most manual and time-consuming inventory and related processes.

“This new product marks the beginning of realizing the next phase in our company’s vision,” said Eugene Izhikevich, CEO of Brain Corp. “We are actively taking BrainOS-powered robots from primarily task-oriented machines to in-store data acquisition platforms. This delivers critical insights and adds significant ROI for retailers.”
