Subscription Commerce Conversion Index – May 2022
Cost is the main reason consumers say they are not enrolling in subscription services, a factor cited by 22% of nonsubscribers in March 2022, up from just 2% six months ago. In the 2022 Subscription Commerce Conversion Index, a collaboration with sticky.io, PYMNTS surveyed over 1,900 U.S. consumers to get a behind-the-scenes look at how subscriber loyalty is being impacted by mounting costs.
Inside the May Index

- 46 million: Estimated number of consumers who canceled or paused a subscription in the last year
- 56%: Share of consumers who would be interested in a grocery subscription if product prices were lower
