Cybersecurity startup Zenedge is emerging from two years of “stealth” mode with funding and expansion plans.
Zenedge specializes in detecting DDoS attacks, SQL injections of malicious code commands and other cyber attacks with the goal of thwarting them before they do damage.
Co-Founder and CTO Leon Kuperman says that the company offers chief technology officers the ability to rank and prioritize their messages, critically important in an environment where false positive attack alerts and warning signal have become so frequent as to become meaningless.
Kuperman was the CTO at Bidz.com Inc. when it suffered a major DDoS attack in 2011 that left the company held hostage (for a ransom) by Russian cybercrimnals. Though they did not pay-off the attackers, the overall two day experience cost the company more than $1.2 million.
“We allow them to say which warning they want to look at and to decide which ones are valid,” Kuperman said, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Zenedge has raised $3.5 million from Needham & CompanyChairman Andrew Malik, and Fred Sorkin.
