EMV-ready payment gateway provider Creditcall today announced that it has been chosen by Dutch contactless payment terminal provider Payter to enable the rollout of its new P6 series of contactless payment terminals. The P6 contactless payment terminal family will be used in unattended markets like vending and parking, and can be easily integrated without modification to existing machines, says Creditcall.

The terminals will take advantage of the increasing use of contactless payments in Europe. Across the continent, the contactless payments market is growing at rapid pace, with the number of contactless card transactions in Europe up 174 percent year over year in Q4 of 2014, according to the release. Berg Insight predicts that by 2019, more than 70 percent of the world’s payment terminals will be contactless enabled.

Creditcall’s EMV Level 2 Kernel, Contactless.LIB, will power Payter’s P6 series of contactless terminals. Contactless.LIB controls communication between the terminal and a credit or debit card, says Creditcall. The transaction is then processed via Creditcall’s Payment Gateway to Europe’s acquiring bank, Elavon.

“[Creditcall’s] EMV Level 2 Kernal has enabled us to reduce development times and speed up our product rollout. We decided to focus on what we do best and bring in an expert, saving us a lot of time and effort,” said Remco Willemse, Managing Director of Payter, in the release. He added that both the implementation and certification processes were “flawless,” and Creditcall provided “excellent advice and support throughout [their] entire development cycle.”

“We have invested heavily in our payment gateway infrastructure over the last few years and it now stands out as the new industry standard in terms of reliability, resilience and security,” said CTO of Creditcall, Jeremy Gumbley.

Nearly 1,000 of Payter’s payment terminals have been deployed to FMCG customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the U.K. since October 2014.
