Boatzon Debuts eMarketplace for Boats, Products

Online boat and marine retailer Boatzon is debuting a direct marketplace for consumers to buy boats and other marine products, according to a company press release Monday (Nov. 1).

The secure marketplace will feature ways for customers to browse, finance, insure, purchase and schedule delivery of such products, with the release calling this the first of its kind in the boating industry.

“When we set out to develop Boatzon nearly two years ago, we wanted to incorporate best in class technology for the marine industry to provide an experience that offers a drastically different customer experience from start to finish,” Boatzon Founder and CEO Bryan Lenett said in the release.

Boatzon offers financing and insurance quotes in real-time, offering a streamlined purchasing experience alongside its partner company, Boatzon Insurance Group, which works as an insurance agency for marine insurance carrier policies.

“Most other industries such as the automobile segment have embraced technology to improve user experiences,” said Boatzon’s Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, Michael Muchnick. “Boat dealers are not going away, but the buying and retail experience for boats are ripe for change. We partner with boat dealers and work with them as a hybrid ‘digital dealer,’ which innovates and improves the shopping and purchasing process for all.”

Boatzon reportedly lets users sell any vessels, engines, trailers and related marine products for free, with over 200 dealers listing inventory with the company.

The release also quotes the National Marine Manufacturers Association, which says that U.S. sales of boats and other marine products totaled $47 billion in 2020, a 9% boost from 2019.
