    Best Credit Cards for Initial, Ongoing Rewards Offers

    • Chase Sapphire Preferred Card: This card offers users 50,000 initial reward bonus points after spending $3,000 in the first three months (worth $625 for lux items such as hotel or airfare). In addition, the $95 annual fee is waived for the first year.

    • Capital One Venture Rewards Card: A travelers dream! This card gives carriers two airline miles per $1 spent on all purchases. Perks also include 10,000 bonus miles when $1,000 is spend in the first three months.

    • Escape by Discover Card: Akin to the Capital One card, carries are given 2% cash back when miles are redeemed for travel credits. 1,000 bonus points are also awarded each month a purchase is made for the first 25 months.

    • Capital One Cash Credit Card: Along with giving users 1.5% cash back on all purchases, there is no annual fee attached to this card.

    Best for 0% APR

    • Citi Platinum Select: This card waives interest charges on purchases and transfers for 21 months. The card’s variable regular interest rate ranges from 11.99% to 21.99%.

    Best for Rebuilding Credit

    • Orchard Bank Secured MasterCard: This card will waive membership fees during the first year (a $35 charge thereafter). As for interest, it carries a 7.99% APR and requires a minimum deposit of $200. And, like its other secured card counterparts, it reports to all the major credit bureaus.

    Best for Students

    • Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card for College Students: Along with waiving purchase charges for the first seven months, this card offers 5% cash back on utilities, supermarket, gas station and drugstore purchases for the first six months. After that, the card offers 2% cash back on rotating spending categories and 1% cash back on everything else.
