In many cases mobile payments provide consumers with a cool alternative to the traditional card swipe or cash payment in exchange for goods and services. But in one instance in Cocoa Beach, Fla., mobile is the only option.

    The City of Cocoa Beach has moved all parking payments to mobile, Mobile Commerce Daily reports. Consumers can pay for parking either by downloading a mobile app, or by calling a local number.
