BNP Paribas Fortis, a French financial services provider, and Belgacom, a Beligum-based telecom operator are joining together to create and launch mobile wallet in Belgium, according to The Paypers. The plan is to release a mobile wallet pilot that will cease by the end of 2013, followed by a rollout launch in the spring of 2014.
The mobile wallet app will combine mobile payments, virtual ticketing, e-coupons and membership award programs together for a quick and easy process. The app will make activities such as public transportation, checking timetables, theatre trips and applying coupons more enjoyable and convenient for customers.
