Report: Amazon Competitor ShopRunner Gets Backing From Alibaba

Chinese eCommerce giant Alibaba Group Holding has agreed to a major investment in eCommerce site and Amazon competitor ShopRunner, according to The Wall Street Journal.

    The investment marks the second time Alibaba has invested in a U.S. eCommerce site in the past few months, the Journal notes. Alibaba executive vice chairman Joe Tsai will join ShopRunner’s board as part of the deal.
