Amazon’s website went offline for anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes at 4 p.m. EST on August 19 due to unknown causes, VentureBeat reported.
The media outlet indicated that Amazon’s website was down for all U.S. and Canadian visitors, but that its country-specific websites were still online. Estimates suggest that if the outage lasted 40 minutes as projected, the company lost $117,882 in sales per minute, or $4.72 million.
