Digital security solutions provider Gemalto announced that it has worked with major Hong Kong mobile network PCCW-HKT, as well as with contactless smartcard payments provider Octopus Cards Limited (OCL), to bring mobile NFC ticketing to its Hong Kong subscribers, a press release revealed.
The collaboration will also provide several other NFC services, including the UpTeq multi tenant NFC SIM, which will allow network subscribers to use Octopus functions on their NFC mobile devices to pay for public transportation and retail items.
