Bitcoin has a new Canadian competitor−the Royal Canadian Mint, which has unveiled a government-backed virtual currency called MintChip.
Designed to be used for in-store payments, MintChip, if fully launched, will integrate with users’ mobile devices for simple and easy purchases.
