As part of the deal, Microsoft received a multi-year licensing deal for Foursquare’s location data, the company said in a Feb. 4 blog post. The $15 million will be included in the money Foursquare raised in December.

The company also hinted that Microsoft will integrate the Foursquare data into its Windows and Windows Phone operating systems.

“So, in the near future, when you use Microsoft devices powered by the Windows and Windows Phone operating systems and products like Bing, places will be enhanced by Foursquare – to provide contextually-aware experiences and the best recommendations of any service in the world,” the Foursquare said in the post.
