NexID Biometrics has introduced its Mobile Live Finger Detection (LFD) software, the first “liveness” detection solution for the convenience and security needs of mobile users worldwide, the company said in a release.
The software provides authentication rates as high as 97 percent, the highest levels of “spoof-proofing” software available on the market today, the company said. It is designed specifically for mobile devices and is technology agnostic.
The Mobile LFD software detects whether an image captured by the device’s fingerprint sensor is in fact a finger from a living person or whether it’s a fake or “spoofed” fingerprint, the company said.
