Subscription commerce platform AppDirect on Thursday (Feb. 10) acquired Canadian cloud technology company ITCloud.ca, a move that broadens the reach of the AppSmart business across Canada, a joint announcement said.
AppSmart, a B2B tech marketplace, helps channel partners and businesses find, buy and manage technology through end-to-end Microsoft capabilities. ITCloud.ca will now be able to “significantly scale its existing business and expand the portfolio of solutions it offers” with 600 new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and telecommunications vendors in the AppSmart catalog.
“I’m thrilled to welcome ITCloud.ca to the AppDirect family, which will enable us to jointly enhance the opportunities and services ITCloud.ca delivers to its technology partners in Canada,” said Renée Bergeron, senior vice president and general manager of AppSmart, in the joint announcement.
“I’m also thrilled that as part of the acquisition, we will be onboarding the phenomenal team that built ITCloud.ca into what it is today,” she said.
ITCloud.ca works with more than 1,200 technology partners who serve thousands of business customers across Canada. The AppDirect acquisition will allow the company to complement and augment its digital partner portal with new capabilities through the AppSmart Marketplace, which offers technology and business solutions and business management tools.
ITCloud.ca partners can now also access AppSmart’s identity management, application management and data visualization tools.

“Our partners will have access to more services, solutions and tools to grow their business, while enjoying the same relationships at ITCloud.ca that they have had for the past 17 years,” he said.
