Apple Pay Rolls Out To 17 American Credit Unions And Banks

Add more names stretching across banks and credit unions that have signed up to support Apple Pay. 9to5Mac said Tuesday (Jan. 3) that the tech giant has added another 17 firms in the United States that accept and work with Apple Pay.

Among the new firms on the roster, in alphabetical order: Enrichment Federal Credit Union, First Security Bank of Arkansas, Marion & Polk Schools Credit Union, Merchants Bank of Indiana, Northern Michigan Bank & Trust, Ohnward Bank and Trust, Postel Family Credit Union, River Cities Bank, River Town Bank, Simplicity Credit Union, SouthPoint Bank, TexasBank, The Peoples Community Bank, Town & Country Bank operating in Illinois and Utah, Trius Federal Credit Union and Woori America Bank.

The total roster now claims more than 1,600 banks and credit unions domestically, said the site, even as 35 percent of retailers in the U.S. support Apple Pay. As has been reported, Apple Pay is also available internationally in, among other nations, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Spain, the U.K. and Switzerland.
