Airbnb and Booking.com Lock Horns for Top Spot in Travel Apps

In this month’s edition of PYMNTS’ Provider Rankings of Travel Apps, a handful remains in the same spot as before, although one new name has pushed into the top 10.

While several app rankings were unchanged for the month, the 30-point gap between the top and bottom of the list was notably wide and points to the potential for future jockeying.

Take a peek at the wave of changes below.

The Top 5

This time around for our No. 1 spot we have Airbnb and  Booking.com both coming in with a score of 100. Airbnb gained two points from previously reported.

The No. 2 spot is runner-up Vrbo scoring at 97. Rising among the ladder and gaining just two points Vrbo is holding down the No 2 spot alone this time, gaining a ranking since last time.

At the No. 3 spot, we have Hopper with a score of 93. Hopper lost two points but remained in the same standing as before.

Just two points down at No. 4, we have Skyscanner with a score of 91. This app’s stats remain the same as previously reported.

Hotels.com at No 5. same as before with an exact score of 86.

The Top 10

Spot No. 6 is a tie between KAYAK and Kiwi.com with a score of 77. Kiwi, although down two points, is still in the same position. Kayak however gained a ranking and lost one point from previously reported.

AllTrails came in at 76 and landed in spot No. 7. Previously AllTrails was No. 8, but it climbed the ladder and took over the higher slot, but the points remained the same.

A newcomer to the list at Spot No. 8 is PriorityPass with a score of 75.

TripAdvisor remained at spot No. 9 with a score of 74. Its score remained the same.

Leading to another identical ranking, Viator Tours & Activities which happens to be spot No.10 just as before with a score that’s two points less at 70. This closes out this month’s edition of the Provider Ranking of Travel Apps.
