Resorts World Las Vegas Gets Cashless Gaming

Sightline Payments and Konami Gaming are teaming up to bring cashless gaming solutions to Resorts World Las Vegas via Sightline’s Play+ digital payments technology and the Konami’s SYNKROS casino management system, according to a press release.

The partnership will be a crucial piece in what the release called “the world’s most technologically advanced casino experience,” with cash an optional form of payment throughout the sprawling campus. Sightline and Konami developed a digital payments experience on the Resorts World Las Vegas mobile app that allows digital log-ins at slot machines and table games and to replenish their digital wallets if they bust.

“Our industry must modernize its payments infrastructure to keep up with consumer preferences, and this partnership offers patrons the same seamless digital payments convenience they enjoy across most retail and hospitality verticals,” said Sightline Co-CEO Joe Pappano in the release. “The ecosystem that we are bringing to life at Resorts World Las Vegas with Konami and our other partners there is showcasing a level of collaboration the industry has not seen before and will serve as a hallmark for other operators adopting cashless technology.”

Konami Gaming Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Jingoli said in the release that SYNKROS “continually powers leading-edge convenience and integration to guest touchpoints throughout the resort, and all of it is taken to a new level in partnership with Sightline. Through the success of this launch, guests can enjoy the complete benefit of quick, seamless rewards and cashless wagering.”

Sightline Payments Co-Founder and Executive Vice President Omer Sattar told PYMNTS in August that the company’s years of planning behind a vision of cashless casinos became a reality as the pandemic continued to spread.

Sattar said he expects to see at least 100 casinos around the U.S. that are at least partially cashless by the end of 2022 and that number will grow to 50% to 75% of all casinos within three years.
