Report: Adds Global ‘One-Stop Shop’ for Branded Payments

Prepaid Cards

Amsterdam-based branded payments company has reportedly announced a global marketplace that will offer digital branded gift cards and mobile top-ups.

The platform will not focus on any single category of retail; instead, it will be a one-stop shop that will provide gift cards and branded payment cards across credit, gaming, entertainment, shopping, pre-paid money and other categories, Zawya reported Monday (Oct. 10).

In addition, the company is promoting the idea of “pay now, buy later (PNBL),” saying that when consumers use prepaid cards, they can better manage their budgets — because they can spend only what they’ve put on the card — and bolster their online security, according to the report.

“This is an exciting new move for the company as we become the world’s one-stop shop for branded payments,” CEO Günther Vogelpoel said in the report. “We are proud to offer the broadest possible choice to a huge range of consumers worldwide while helping people to protect their details online. We are also thrilled to lead the way in helping people manage their household budgets and spending during uncertain times.”

The platform will host 750 brands, be available in 160 countries and enable customers to shop in 17 languages, according to the report.

The announcement comes about seven months after, which is best known for selling gift cards for popular brands such as Spotify, Netflix and Xbox, expanded to Australia.

“The pandemic has increased the human need for connection, often through entertainment and gaming, and we are proud to be helping consumers to access the things that matter to them while remaining secure online and within household budgets,” Vogelpoel said March 21.
