Telemedicine Apps Get A Check-Up In New Provider Ranking

Telehealth app

Tell a friend. Tell a colleague. Telemedicine. Video doctor visits are all the rage in this epic year of not touching things or being in physical proximity to others, and we’re tracking it.

PYMNTS' inaugural Provider Ranking of Telemedicine Apps introduces us to brands both known and just starting to make their mark in the field of virtual medicine, which languished for years until the germ that shall not be named slapped a light-speed engine on the entire sector.

Keep your monthly appointment here as we check up on the booming telemedicine category.

The Top 5

Coming in at No. 1 on this inaugural Ranking is Teladoc, video app of the U.S.-based multinational virtual healthcare company, followed at No. 2 by Doctor On Demand which partnered with Walmart in 2018. At No. 3 is the K Health | Primary Care app and its artificial intelligence (AI) diagnostic capabilities, with the MyTeleMed app at No. 4, and Canada’s Maple — 24/7 Online Doctors app taking the No. 5 spot, closing out the Top 5 this month.

The Top 10

Moving down into the remainder of the Top 10 we find Vsee Clinic For Patient and its powerful encryption at No. 6, followed by the MDLIVE platform app at No. 7. Charting at No. 8 this first time out is LiveHealth Online Mobile, with No. 9 Amwell: Doctor Visits 24/7 making headlines with its recent initial public offering (IPO). Closing out the Top 10 at No. 10 is the PlushCare: Online Doctor app.

About: From the online betting sector where one’s physical location at the time of wager is a matter of state law, to banks complying with stringent international Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations, geolocation services are proving a powerful weapon against fraudsters.
