Wyoming Gets BetMGM Mobile Sports Betting

BetMGM

BetMGM on Thursday (Sept. 2) announced Wyoming as the 14th market to offer digital sports betting through the company’s mobile and online platforms.

“We’re ecstatic that BetMGM is one of the first mobile sports betting platforms to launch in Wyoming, just in time for the start of the football season,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt in the company announcement. “Wyoming is an important state for us as we continue to expand BetMGM’s footprint in the West. We’re confident that its sports fans will enjoy the BetMGM experience.”

The BetMGM app allows bettors to customize their pre-game, in-play, futures and parlay wagers. BetMGM’s integration with MGM Resorts’ M life Rewards program means BetMGM customers in Wyoming can redeem their winnings at U.S. MGM Resorts properties, including Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Borgata in New Jersey, MGM National Harbor in Maryland, Beau Rivage in Mississippi and MGM Grand Detroit.

The BetMGM app will be available for download in Wyoming on both iOS and Android as well as on BetMGM’s website.

The Super Bowl wasn’t the only high-profile sports event to suffer technical issues recently. As tens of thousands of fans watched the WWE SummerSlam at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas last month, a nationwide payment system outage rocked the boat.

Vendors were unable to complete transactions in the cashless stadium. That led to a dearth of alcohol sales, but there were reports of free soda and food being given to fans.

According to a vendor manager at the stadium’s Twitch Lounge, the outage stemmed from payment processor Shift4, which runs the stadium’s point of sale systems.
