Black Friday Expected Mobile

Google’s AdMob forecasts that 15 percent of online searches during Black Friday will be conducted via mobile.

Sixty-five percent of users surveyed said they employed a mobile device to locate a business to make an in-store purchase, added Mobile Commerce Daily.

“Our goal was to help advertisers understand the mobile search opportunity during the holidays,” said Michael Slinger, director of mobile ads at Google. “We wanted to provide some specific mobile search insights to help advertisers best plan their holiday media campaigns.”

Google predicts that 44 percent of all searches for last-minute presents and store locations will be made from mobile devices. In addition, more than 33 percent of both smartphone and tablet users plan say they aim to begin their holiday shopping prior to Thanksgiving.
