Denise Dias is an independent Consultant specialized in prudential banking and microfinance regulation and supervision, working for Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), the World Bank, GIZ (formerly GTZ) and she’s also an Associate at Bankable Frontier. Prior to becoming a consultant in Jan 2011, she was a member of CGAP’s Government and Policy Initiative and the regional manager for Latin America and the Caribbean. Before becoming staff at CGAP, Denise was a CGAP Consultant for nearly 2 years and independently consulted to GIZ, FIRST Initiative and the World Bank in several regulatory matters related to financial access policy making. She has an MBA in International Banking and Finance from Birmingham Business School (UK), an MBA in Financial Sector Economics from USP (Brazil), and a Bachelor’s in Business from UFMG (Brazil).

    Kate McKee joined CGAP (the global microfinance resource center) in 2006 as Senior Policy Advisor. She leads CGAP’s research, writing and policy advisory work on consumer protection, including analysis of policy/regulatory/supervision options for market conduct regulation in low-access markets. She also leads CGAP work on responsible finance. This includes work with the Smart Campaign to develop consensus industry standards for improved client protection, as well as an initiative to ensure that responsible finance considerations are integrated in investor processes. From 1998-2006 Kate directed the Microenterprise Development office at the U.S. Agency for International Development, leading support to USAID overseas programs that invest over $200 million annually in 70+ countries. Kate is a development economist, with a Masters from Princeton University.
