The digital currency Bitcoin rose six percent in value today from $10.40 per unit to $11, according to Venture Beat.
A quarter of a million dollars worth of Bitcoins were stolen earlier in the week, while today a hacker claiming to have Mitt Romney’s tax releases has demanded $1 million in Bitcoins as blackmail.
