Canada’s M-Payment Joint Venture Prepares Mobile Wallet Launch

EnStream, the joint venture between Canadian telecommuncations firms Rogers, Bell, and Telus, will launch a mobile wallet product by the end of 2012, according to Engadget.

EnStream’s mobile wallet stores user financial data on a SIM card inside the NFC-enabled mobile phone, eliminating credit and debit cards from the transaction. According to Engadget, the carriers plan to charge banks one flat fee for processing, rather than per-transaction fees.
