PayPal Picks POS Partner for In-Store Checkout Venture

Looking to expand its upcoming in-store payment system, PayPal has formed an agreement with Ingenico, which will enable their terminals to handle PayPal transactions, according to a report by Gigaom.com.

    This deal will enable merchants who rely on Ingenico hardware to accept both mobile and card-based PayPal transactions. Currently, Ingenico has 15 million terminals worldwide, two million of which are in the United States.

    While the terms of the deal are yet to be released Ingenico’s president of North America, Thierry Denis, has stated that the agreement will allow merchants to offer consumers a wider range of payment options.
