@NFC_SME: Banks are security centric, not application building centric. RT @pymnts: #Smartphone Baking Capabilities Are Lacking. Ow.ly/dju9z
Here’s an interesting response to Auriemma Consulting Group’s report that mobile banking among smartphone users is not as prevalent as we think. The report inferred that banks are failing to keep up with consumer demand, but at this tweeter raises questions as to whether mobile finance applications should come directly from the banks in the first place.
@BBillingsley: Going after the weakest in the herd. RT @pymnts: #Google Exec Attacks #Isis, Hints At New Wallet Features ow.ly/djtBb
Looks like Google Wallet’s Rabin Dua isn’t the only one with harsh words for Isis –this tweeter seems to agree with the sentiment that Isis is lagging behind in the mobile wallet’s business. Dua characterized Isis’ business strategy as ‘not scalable” earlier in the week, saying its SIM-based plan will take too long to implement. Isis ultimately got the last laugh, though, as word leaked that it will finally launch in select markets next month.

@CrawfordCragun: Commentary -Fifth Network … First Wallet | PYMNTS.com: http://pymnts.com/commentary/fifth …
We thank Crawford for the retweet of Karen Webster’s piece on PayPal’s partnership with Discover, and how it may make PayPal the world’s “fifth payments network.” We’ve been inundated with Google Wallet and Isis news this week, but PayPal’s mobile wallet potential should not be ignored.
@USA_Tech: @pymnts I believe it!
What does USA Technologies believe? The study we passed along that U.S. moms spend more time with smartphones than they do with more traditional platforms such as TV, radio or magazines. So what does that mean for payments? One report says that 97 percent of tablet-owning mothers shopped from their device last month, and mobile usage among such users is up 40 percent from 2009.
There’s our top five for the week. Have a great weekend, everyone!
