American spending is taking an upward turn as a new Gallup poll records a $74 per day spending average for March 2012, representing a 16% increase year over year.
The sizable uptick is being fueled by strong job creation, higher gas prices and a feeling of economic confidence that hasn’t been matched in four years, according to the report.
Gallup notes that the results reflect self-reported spending.
