AirPlus International, a business travel payments company, announced its partnership with mobile network operator Deutsche Telekom, for the roll out of its NFC pilot in Germany, reported NFC World. Employees located at the offices in Bonn, Frankfurt and Hamburg are now able to use the new NFC technology to make payments. They can use services with their T-Mobile MyWallet app at any MasterCard PayPass contactless terminal.
AirPlus reported that the pilot was an opportunity for the company to meet business travelers’ and organizations’ needs by providing them with detailed mobile payments solutions.
Patrick Diemer, managing director at AirPlus told NFC World, “Mobile payment will turn our payment habits upside down. It offers great benefits to business travellers as well as to travel managers. Mobile payment via smartphone is becoming increasingly popular. AirPlus will expand its strategy to cooperate with partners and corporate customers to develop optimal solutions for the mobile payment traffic of tomorrow.”
