Barclays Updates Pingit App For Mobile Commerce Push

Pingit, a mobile application from Barclays, announced it has introduced new features that will move the service into mobile commerce. Pingit now features “mobile checkout” and “buy it” features, reported Finextra.

The mobile checkout option allows customers to make immediate payments with the click of a button, and eliminates the need for shoppers to enter account details on their mobile phones. Pingit customers can use buy it to make direct purchases from advertisements by scanning the QR code with their mobile phone.

Mike Walters, head, UK corporate payments, Barclays, said, “Mobile commerce has grown more than 250% over the last two years and it is important that businesses provide consumers with a convenient and easy payment method through this channel.”
