Belarus is the latest country to adopt NFC payments, as mobile network operator, MTS, announced a partnership with Belgazprombank to launch mobile payment services, reports NFC World. The new service will allow subscribers to make mobile payments to merchants in Belarus that accept MasterCard PayPass contactless payments. It was also announced that four other banks in the country would join the payment service by the end of 2013.
Some of the merchants in Belarus that will participate include MTS stores, grocers and fast food stores. Subscribers will also be allowed to pay for toll charges, taxis and parking tickets.
